Categories provide a shared organizational system for content across the platform. They are managed from Admin > Categories.
Categories are agnostic — a single category can organize products, articles, and pages simultaneously. Creating a category like "Featured" makes it available across all content types that opt into it.
On the public site, categories appear as tabs or filter options on listing pages. Visitors can click a category to see only content assigned to it.
Each category specifies which content tables it applies to via the tables field. A category can be associated with products, articles, pages, or any combination. Only categories that include a given table in their associations will appear as options when editing records of that type.

When editing a product, article, or page, use the Categories field to assign one or more categories. Content can belong to multiple categories simultaneously.
The first category in the list is considered the primary category and determines the URL structure for that record (e.g., /articles/news/my-article). Additional categories serve as secondary filters.
Categories can be used in site navigation through Site Config > Navigation. Menu items with the category type automatically generate sub-links from a table's live categories, creating dynamic dropdown menus that update as categories are added or removed.
